Totana has a fascinating story to tell. Visit the Sanctuary of Saint Eulalia, where, in the 13th century, the Knights of the Order of Santiago built a sanctuary that, although no longer in existence, was replaced by another in 1574, which has been declared a Site of Cultural Interest. Because of the miraculous events that took place there, the cult of Saint Eulalia soon became well established. In addition to the sanctuary itself, with its murals, the Sanctuary Museum, the Information Centre and Monastery Hotel are also well worth a visit. In the area around the Sanctuary there are a couple of interesting walking routes in the hills of the Sierra Espuna - the Via Crucis route, which will take you up to the Los Balcones look-out point and the Virgen Blanca route.
