Every summer, flocks of pink flamingos stop off at the Salinas y Arenales Regional Park in San Pedro del Pinatar on their journey to North Africa. Why not spend some time discovering one of the region's largest wetland area, which is inhabited by grebes, coots, gulls, albatross, herons, owls and the "fartet" or Iberian tooth carp, a small fish native to the south-east coast of Spain? To find out all about the park, visit the Las Salinas Wetland Research and Conservation Centre, where you can see a model of the park, photos of its varied ecosystem and learn about its flora and fauna.
