In Águilas on the southern seaboard of Murcia there is a vast area ofcountryside and kilometres of unspoilt coastline where you can visit wonderful unspoilt coves and wild natural beaches.
In the Cope Bay area, you should visit the recently restored Torre de Cope, one of the many defensive towers built to fend off raidsby Berber pirates.
This area is also ideal for keen fishermen and for walkers, who can climb to the top of Calnegre or follow the well-marked trail that winds its way around Cape Cope. The rocky seabed around the cape offers excellent diving.
